PotatoEurope 2006 will be held in Germany at the manor estate Rittergut Bockerode near Hannover (in the state of Lower Saxony) on 6 and 7 September 2006. After being hosted by France in 2004 and the Netherlands in 2005, this leading event for professional potato farmers will take place in Germany for the first time this year. The German potato branch association Union der Deutschen Kartoffelwirtschaft (UNIKA) has charged the DLG (Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft – German Agricultural Society) with organising the event. The DLG expects about 150 exhibitors and 10,000 national and international visitors from home and abroad at the two-day event.
The International Potato Congress 2006 is scheduled for 4 to 6 September 2006 in Hameln near Hanover. This is where the latest findings from practice, extension work and research will be discussed and intensified.
