Percentage Dry Matter and Specific Gravity can greatly affect the selling price of potatoes.  Tong Peal are now able to offer this fantastic portable product as a replacement for traditional hydrometers.  At a fraction the price of a hydrometer and much more robust this weigher offers any potato grower, packer or wholesaler the chance to check Dry Matter or Specific Gravity of  potatoes within seconds.  This unit has been fully tested  by the BPC with very satisfactory results (which are available on request).  Each machine comes with a quality assurance certificate and a 12 month warranty.

A portable, simple to use, robust electronic weigher which calculates percentage dry matter and specific gravity.

 The PW-2050 weigher can be used in a laboratory or in the field, it is battery operated and will continue to work for up to 12 hours between charges.  Between 1.5 and 4 kilos of potatoes can be measured and the depth of water required to weigh them is only 40cm.  On the push of one button the unit will automatically calculate percentage dry matter and specific gravity.  It is able to store up to 5000 individual weights in its memory and can download data to a PC or printer.  Time and date of each weighing is recorded and printed and will remain in the PW-2050 memory until cleared.

On completion of weighing the PW-2050 can download to our standard thermal portable printer, our new bluetooth printer, a hand-held terminal via bluetooth or direct to a PC or notebook using the cable provided or via bluetooth.

When interfacing with a PC, data is downloaded directly into Microsoft® Excel®.  Data collection can be set to individual needs.
